OUI DANSE takes its name from the French word for yes. It is pronounced /WE DANCE/. OUI DANSE is a project base dance company, created in 2013 by choreographer Brice Mousset, a cutting edge French Artist based in New York City. OUI DANSE received grants for its artistry from The Edward Sulzberger foundation and from Entrust Partners LLC in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. For its work "Travailler" the company was the REVERBdance award winner and audience favorite in 2013 and received a standing ovation at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival and at Ailey Citigroup Theater. in 2014. The company also garnered acclaim for sold out performances of the second work "French Amour" commissioned by Danspace at St. Mark's Church in 2014. OUI DANSE participated in numerous dance festivals such as Peridance presents, Nudance, The gratitude project, Dumbo Dance, Brooklyn Dance Festival, Capezio Theater and more. In 2015, OUI DANSE started a new work "Urbountry" commissioned by Luminaria Arts Festival. OUI DANSE also produced a dance installation for the luxury legwear Wolford, created, directed and choreographed by Mr Mousset. Today OUI DANSE is creating a new work "Tu es mon autre" with special guest Christine Dakin, former principal dancer, and artistic director laureate of the Martha Graham Dance Company, recipient of a “Bessie” and the Dance Magazine Award and a Fellow of Harvard’s Radcliffe Institute of Advanced Study (2008/09). Ms. Dakin will present OUI DANSE’s full evening work at the legendary Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in May, 2016. OUI DANSE is also invited to perform for numerous festivals in PA, Texas, Mexico and NYC. OUI DANSE is delighted to expand the company repertoire, showcase the work and share its' universe with all, especially when collaborating with other form of arts such as fashion, photography and film. The company is working on a photography book and short films. More information coming soon.
